About Us

Welcome to Andy and Courtney’s Web site.  What began as a simple blog for our families detailing our 16 month experience on the Caribbean island of Dominica has turned into so much more.  A sounding board of our thoughts and ideas, an immediate connection to family and friends, and an easy method of self-expression has sprung from the ashes of our old blog.

Andy has begun his clinical rotations at Ross University School of Medicine and Courtney works as a Search Engine Marketing Analyst for the newspapers online division of E.W. Scripps. We have been living a seemingly nomadic up until our recent relocation to Atlanta.  Enjoy our blog posts and stories, Andy’s music, Courtney’s photography, the videos we’ve accumulated, and much more!

About Us: We met at Vanderbilt and started dating in October of 2002. We were married in a beautiful ceremony in front of our family and close friends at the Siena Golf Club June 24, 2006.  Right now, we’re living in Atlanta and loving it.  We also just had a gorgeous little boy named Riley who is the light of our life.

COURTNEY

Interests: My husband, my son, my family, my friends, and our cats, Peanut and Reagan, are the most important things in my life. I love travel, Europe, speaking French, international relations, and luxury goods. Reading really good writing gives me chills. I’m a diehard Vanderbilt fan, a Sony aficionado, and I have a weakness for expensive handbags.  I love Starbucks and I consider San Francisco my home away from home.  I also have developed a fondness for football, particularly the Chicago Bears, who currently sport a roster for five ex-Vanderbilt players!

Current Activities: Telecommuting for E.W. Scripps as a Search Engine Marketing Analyst, being a supportive wife to an overworked med student, being a full-time mom, and occasional writing.

Favorite Places to Visit: San Francisco, the Monterey Peninsula, Disney World, Las Vegas, London, PARIS. Nashville. Paris again.

Favorite Books: The Harry Potter series, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Golden Compass trilogy, anything Madeleine L’engle EVER wrote, the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins, Les Lais of Marie de France, Sophie’s World, any good chick-lit.

ANDY

Interests: My Wife, my son, my cats, music, guitar, drums, bass, video games, computers, football, skiing, anything you do on the water, traveling, shopping, life, the universe, and everything. Riding trains.

Current Activities: Studying medicine, exploring, using my Blackberry.  I’d like my activities to include going to the pool, the beach, but I pretty much just study all the time.

Favorite Places to Visit: Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Longboat Key, Orlando, DC, Prague, Lago di Garda, Venice, Innsbruck, Atlanta, my grandparents’ farms in West Tennessee, anywhere on a boat.
